Acronis Integrates with Jamf for Apple Enterprise Management

By Tracey E. Schelmetic

In the business world, the proliferation of Mac devices continues. Today, more than half (55 percent) of all small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) reportedly being “Mac-friendly,” leaving their managed service providers (MSPs) searching for a streamlined way to identify, monitor, and secure the data on those machines, particularly in the face of rising corporate cyber-threats.

Switzerland-based cyber-protection company Acronis announced this week the integration of its service provider solution, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, with Jamf, the standard in Apple Enterprise Management (AEM). Minneapolis-based Jamf produces Jamf Pro, an application used by system administrators to configure and automate IT administration tasks for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices. The integration, Acronis' first with Apple, will enable managed service providers (MSPs) to easily mass deploy and manage Acronis' single-agent solution for comprehensive backup, recovery, cybersecurity, and endpoint protection management – ensuring their clients' macOS machines remain secure.

The integration streamlines management for MSPs by using native Jamf tools and workflows to manage, configure, and monitor cyber protection plans and statuses. MSPs can strengthen their backup and cybersecurity offering while simplifying the management by applying sophisticated protection plans through the same interface they use to manage their other service offerings.

“The Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration is tailor made for MSPs that manage macOS devices on the Jamf platform, helping to establish our credibility and influence in the world of Apple,” said Jan-Jaap “JJ” Jager, board advisor and chief revenue officer at Acronis, in a statement. “We know we are better together as partners, and we worked cooperatively with Jamf to create an integration that is a natural extension of the Jamf Pro platform and uses workflows that are intuitive to Jamf users. This integration creates significant value for macOS admins.”

To learn more about how managed service providers can improve cybersecurity, plan to attend MSPEXPO, part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW series. MSPEXPO has been designed to help service providers understand how they can drive more recurring revenue, increase the valuation of their companies, grow, and protect their networks and deliver better customer service. It will also help companies looking for MSP partners to understand how MSPs can help them grow. The show will take place from February 8-11, 2022, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For more information or to register, visit the show website
