Brazil's Economy Finds Relief in Cloud Solutions

By Luke Bellos

A recent report just released by Information Services Group, or ISG, found that Brazillian enterprises are investing heavily in Microsoft’s cloud services to maintain business activity in the midst of the global pandemic. The 2021 ISG Provider LensMicrosoft Ecosystem Report examined how businesses across the country are taking advantage of Microsoft’s office tools and collaboration software to maintain a productive remote environment while the world awaits a return to normalcy.

ISG’s report examined the business operations of 58 providers, and dividing the analysis into six specific quadrants:  Managed Services for Azure for Large Accounts, Managed Services for Azure for the Midmarket, Office 365 – Modern Workplace for Large Accounts, Office 365 – Modern Workplace for the Midmarket, Dynamics 365, and SAP on Azure. One of the motivations behind this report was to learn about how quickly Brazillian enterprises were able to adapt to the abrupt changes in the economy, and how Microsoft’s solutions assisted in this transition.

“With social distancing rules established practically overnight, the demand for cloud services in Brazil increased considerably,” said Jan Erik Aase, partner and global leader, ISG Provider Lens Research. “Many cloud service providers reported intense activity, with the market seeking alternatives to on-premises operating models.”

According to the results of the report, nearly 95% of Microsoft’s revenue in Brazil is derived from the company’s partner ecosystem. The report also found that Microsoft’s cloud-based Office 365 suite surged in use across the country, as many enterprise leaders sought to modernize software capabilities for improved remote activity.

ISG subscribers can access the new report for free by visiting the company webpage, and is also available for a one-time purchase.
