Security has to be top of mind for business leaders today. But, the security landscape has become increasingly complicated, making it difficult for IT and security teams to keep pace and protect all their corporate assets – especially when also dealing with a large number of remote workers. Firewalls continue to be a big part of enterprise security but, increasingly, companies are looking to get away from managing their own firewalls because of challenging architectures and lack of scalability.
It’s one of the many reasons more and more companies are outsourcing their security to MSSPs and MSPs. It’s actually a two-way win: IT teams have more time to complete other tasks, while also putting security in the hands of experts who are completely focused on it and aren’t constantly being drawn away for other needs.
“MSSPs can address this need and expand their offering by enabling a Firewall as a Service (FWaaS), which replaces physical firewalls with virtual firewalls,” said Eduardo Cervantes, CEO, Corsa Security . But, they need a turnkey solution to automate firewall virtualization so their customer support team can quickly and easily spin up new services immediately.
Corsa has made that possible with its network security automation platform to allow MSSPs and MSPs to offer virtualized firewalls to replace existing physical firewalls. Leveraging a SASE framework to converge network and security functions into a unified service, providers can now easily provision virtual firewalls as needed for customers. Configuration, deployment, and licensing are all done through the Corsa Security Orchestrator, allowing simple management of customers’ security needs.
With the Corsa FWaaS platform, providers are able to more efficiently deploy multiple firewalls for customers, whether in public cloud or on-premises environments. The flexibility is increasingly important as businesses continue to develop and implement their digital transformation strategies, leverage hybrid and multi-cloud environments, all while managing disparate workforces.
“What's been conspicuously missing when deploying virtualized firewalls for North-South traffic is a sensible orchestration platform that lets non-engineers spin up and manage multiple firewalls in zero-touch fashion,” said Tony Burgard, Technical Account Manager at Trace3 , an IT company and MSP.
The Corsa platform is ideal for MSPs because it supports multi-tenancy, allowing providers to offer and deliver specific security to individual customers on-demand, while supporting the scalability required to grow their customer bases. It also allows them to easily add new virtualized services and connect them to existing monitoring, billing, and inventory tools for easy integration into their service portfolios.
Automation continues to emerge as a key to optimizing service delivery for providers and create more efficient, scalable, and profitable operations. Corsa’s new platform brings that automation to enterprise firewalls, giving MSPs and MSSPs the ability to quickly accommodate customer needs, without increasing the burden on their techs.
