MSP Spinnaker Support to Provide Cloud Services to UK Public Sector

By Laura Stotler

MSP Spinnaker Support has been chosen to provide cloud support through a framework working on behalf of the UK government. The company, which offers Oracle and SAP managed services and third-party support, will work directly with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) government framework.

Spinnaker was vetted over the summer for work with the UK government and public entities through the GOV.UK digital marketplace. The MSP was engaged via the G-Cloud 12 framework for cloud support and will work with CCS to provide services. CCS acts on behalf of the UK government to provide fair procurement efficiencies for public entities.

"Our business ethos continues to spread as we successfully support global organizations, the way we have done since 2008," said Martin Biggs, VP and general manager - EMEA of Spinnaker. "My personal drive is to continue delivering this first-class support and reach more local organizations, particularly those within the UK public sector."

Headquartered in Denver, CO, Spinnaker strives to help public sector organizations and a variety of businesses save money on Oracle and SAP annual support contracts. The MSP also offers Salesforce.com managed services and strives to ensure its customers' software services remain safe, secure and operational.

CCS has a similar role within the UK government, helping public sector organizations save money on goods and services. The group, which is the largest public procurement organization in the UK, uses its collective purchasing power and experience the help government entities procure the best commercial deals.

"My UK team are helping redirect as much spend as possible to public sector services and avoid aiding large software publishers profiting steep margins," added Biggs. "We have the local ability, headcount, and expertise to help restructure IT strategies, put the right shift into digital transformation, and give back the savings organizations need to invest in other areas of their business."
