SoTel Shooting for Application Performance with SD-WAN Addition

By Maurice Nagle

Cloud-based applications are what drive enterprise collaboration and productivity. Our SaaSy world demands reliable, high-performing and flexible networking solutions, and answering the call is SD-WAN. In promising exceptional application performance and so much more, SD-WAN is no passing fad.

Today, InfoVista announced a collaborative agreement with SoTel Systems to enable the delivery of SD-WAN and application performance solutions from the cloud to SoTel’s small and mid-size enterprise and service provider customers in Latin America, Canada and the United States.

“SoTel is uniquely delivering to small and mid-size businesses InfoVista’s powerful application-aware SD-WAN capabilities, which, until now, were only accessible to large enterprises,” said Sylvain Quartier, SVP Digital Enterprise Products Strategy, InfoVista. “The new solution integrates all the capabilities organizations need to orchestrate the performance of business applications — including unified communications (UC) — running across their entire enterprise networks.”

For a cloud service provider and distributor of networking and communications equipment like SoTel, leveraging InfoVista’s Ipanema VNF means application flow optimizations and the delivery of application-aware SD-WAN services. Management is made easy via dynamic path selection, prioritization and advanced QoS capabilities.

“The InfoVista Ipanema solution is perfectly matched to enable our cloud services, including Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and SIP trunking,” said Matt Siemens, president, cloud services and distribution, SoTel. “Our partners need to deliver their services with quality and security, and InfoVista’s application aware SD-WAN solution using SoTel’s architecture is uniquely suited to enable VARs, service providers, and enterprises to deploy SD-WAN as a low-price-of-entry subscription model.”

With the Ipanema addition, SoTel is positioned to provide end-to-end application QoS and security, both front of mind for firms far and wide. SD-WAN is addressing market requirements in a big way, with adoption proving to hammer this point home.
