New Zealand's Soltius Joins AWS MSP Partner Program

By Frank Griffin

Amazon Web services (AWS) has the largest global cloud delivery model, and for managed service providers (MSPs), it delivers a proven solution they can offer to their customers. By becoming part of the AWS MSP Partner Program, New Zealand's technology solutions provider Soltius is going to have access to tools for delivering value to its customers.

Soltius is the latest member of the audited group of AWS Managed Service Providers after meeting the company's requirements, including a third-party audit of its AWS Managed Service capabilities.

Ryan Lewis, Platform Business Line Manager at Soltius, said, “The audit process covers how partners should plan, build, integrate, operate, optimize and provide security on AWS. The Managed Service Provider Partner Program accreditation shows how far we’ve come in the 18 months since we first started to build this capability internally.”

Soltius can now provide security, DevOps, proactive monitoring, automation and streamlined management of customers’ environments. It is the first company in New Zealand to get the SAP competency for AWS, and one of only three AWS MSPs in the country.

The Soltius AWS cloud offering includes: automated deployment, migration and operations; architectural and consulting services; billing management and spend optimization; and managed cloud services.

Currently, AWS Cloud has a Global Network of Regions and Edge Locations operating in 42 Availability Zones within 16 geographic Regions around the world. The company has announced plans for adding eight more Availability Zones and three more Regions. This is what gives AWS an advantage when it comes to availability, reliability and business continuity.

The AWS platform is a secure cloud service delivering compute power, database storage, content delivery and other functionality so users can grow by building applications and delivering services with greater flexibility and scalability. The company's IT infrastructure services can be accessed with pay-as-you-go pricing for computing power, storage options, networking and databases delivered as a utility. This gives even small startups access to enterprise grade solutions available on-demand.

More than 50 services, including data warehousing, deployment tools and directories to content delivery, are part of AWS. While these services are used by the largest public and private organizations in the world, start-ups, SMBs and individual customers can quickly provision new services without upfront capital expense.

Soltius will have access to all of these resources as part of the AWS MSP Partner Program.
