Dome9 Channel Program Means MSP Cloud Security

Dome9 Channel Program Means MSP Cloud Security

By Steve Anderson

Managed service providers (MSPs), particularly those dealing in public cloud operations, have long had one major problem: security. Security, or the perceived lack thereof, has kept more than a few from making the move to a public cloud system. Dome9 Security, therefore, has brought some new firepower to the field with its new channel program.

The new program, known as the Dome9 Cloud Protection Program, offers channel partners a new slate of protections for MSPs offering public cloud systems. More specifically, it offers particular help in getting out the Dome9 Arc cloud security platform, a tool seeing rapidly increasing demand.

With Dome9 Arc, users get access to a tool that not only simplifies security, but also strengthens it by making it easier to use and by adding new capability to current operations. New capability like security visualization functions, remediation tools, and even active enforcement systems are all in place with Dome9 Arc. It's particularly geared toward those using MSP services, especially through public cloud operations like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.

Additionally, Dome9 stepped up its market presence by setting up a new partnership arrangement with Westcon-Comstor. This is widely regarded as a move that will help Dome9 make a better push on enterprise users, who are well-represented in the public cloud user market.  Already, reports note, the company is pushing mainly toward users in North America, as well as the Europe / Middle East / Africa (EMEA) region and the Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) corridor.

Recently-hired vice president of worldwide sales and operations Jim Sortino noted, “The customer base for public cloud services is shifting from early adopters and software developers who build and manage their own tools for security and analytics, to enterprises running mission-critical workloads. Enterprises are looking for managed services and platforms that they can use, especially in the security realm. This will create a massive business opportunity around providing enterprise-class managed services on top of one or more public cloud services catering to our customers.”

Public cloud systems do require greater protection; after all, these are systems through which a lot of data flows, including plenty of proprietary or otherwise sensitive data that helps keep a company running.  The loss or exposure of this data could mean disaster, either in lost face, lost opportunity, or even lost revenue. So protecting public cloud data, particularly as the public cloud is more frequently employed, becomes vital to overall operations.

MSPs have a powerful new tool in public cloud operations, one that requires extra protection. Protection like the kind that Dome9 can offer, which should be much easier to bring in now.
