CGI Chosen as Alberta Human Services' Sole AMS Supplier

By Alicia Young

Alberta Human Services announced this week that they have selected CGI as the Ministry’s exclusive partner for the delivery of application management services (AMS). Alberta Human Services chose to merge its vendor relationships and instead chose CGI as its sole AMS supplier due to a competitive process.

CGI is the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world. They serve thousands of global clients from offices and delivery centers across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific by offering a variety of services, including high-end business and IT consulting, systems integration, application development and maintenance, infrastructure management, as well as 150 IP-based services and solutions. Due to their success in these operations, they were chosen by Alberta Human Services as their sole AMS supplier.

The new five-plus year contract is valued at $30.4 million. The contract states that CGI is responsible for providing AMS operation support to enable high levels of application stability and responsiveness, AMS enhancements, the introduction of innovations that will improve business value, streamline operations and help on-going support of applications, through a newly formed Innovation Office, and application development services through separate application development teams.

Shawn Derby, SVP of CGI's Western Business Unit in Canada, showed enthusiasm for the expansion of CGI’s partnership with Alberta Human Serrvices by saying, “We are proud of our long-term partnership with Alberta Human Services which began back to 2002, and honored to expand our relationship through this new contract.”

She continued on to say, “CGI has decades of experience in managing application services for major organizations in both the private and public sectors and a proven track record of delivering expected business outcomes through our experts, frameworks and tools. We look forward to continuing to help Alberta Human Services drive its performance and meet its strategic goals.”
