Mtextbox Launches Managed IT Services Offering

By Paula Bernier

Mtextbox recently rolled out fully managed IT services in Baltimore, Md.

This offering was created to help organizations hand off the management and maintenance of their IT infrastructure to an outside expert in the field, the company said. The service features round-the-clock coverage and disaster recovery services based on cloud-based backup for computer files.

“We are pleased to be able to help individuals get the best protection possible for both their systems and their data,” a Mtextbox spokesperson explained. “For new businesses, we are capable of setting up their IT infrastructure to offer the best and most secure performance from the get go, with optimized integration of the many different elements that make up a functioning IT infrastructure.”

Mtextbox managed services, the company adds, gives organizations peace of mind and guaranteeing the best results on a day-to-day basis.

Outsourcing is a growing business.

According to consulting firm Everest Group, global outsourcing demand exceeded expectations in the first quarter of this year, during which most service providers reported sequential growth in revenue, and transaction activity was higher than in the previous eight quarters.

However, a Wall Street Journal posting yesterday reports that IT outsourcing contract deals are getting smaller. And it notes that such a deal recently struck by long-time allies BAE Systems and CSC was worth just $600 million for five years. That’s less than a third the size of a five-year deal the two penned in 2005.

Service providers like to outsource the operations of their networks too. IHS Technology reports that telecommunications outsourcing services reached $69 billion in 2015. This space is poised to reach $76 billion by 2020, according to the research and consulting company. Ericsson is the leader in this space, followed by Huawei, HPE, IBM, and Nokia Networks.
