Telecom Brokers Acquires Ethertel Networks

By Rory Lidstone

Telecom Brokers has managed to expand its fast-growing full-service cloud and technology business in the Southeast through the acquisition of the customer base and other assets of Ethertel Networks. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Ethertel is now a Telecom Brokers branch office that will be critical in the latter’s US expansion.

As part of the acquisition deal, Ethertel Networks’ former president Wes Spining will stay on as vice president of Sales, South, for Telecom Brokers. He is in charge of expanding the location’s operations, while building up an agent sales force and direct sales force in the region.

“We’re very excited about being acquired by Telecom Brokers, and about the opportunity to merge our talents into such an amazing master agency,” said Spining. “We plan on putting Telecom Brokers on the map in the Southeast, and creating the type of brand awareness that so many master agencies don’t currently have.”

This marks the sixth acquisition for Telecom Brokers so far, but is the first time the company has converted a master agency into a company extension. Aside from acquisitions, Telecom Brokers has also been expanding its offerings through partnerships, like the one it forged with Treasure Data in December to bring a new set of cloud-based big data tools, along with other business intelligence resources, to its customer base.

Ethertel brings 15 years of industry experience to Telecom Brokers, as well as a loyal and diverse customer base of 600 businesses of sizes varying from five to 5,000 employees.

“This acquisition is so meaningful for us,” said Dom Antonini, president of Telecom Brokers. “I feel very strongly that bringing Wes and Ethertel on as part of our internal organization marks the beginning of an exciting fresh chapter for Telecom Brokers. We offered Wes a sizeable signing bonus to become part of the team and to remain exclusive to Telecom Brokers, because we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to establish a location in the South with such a quality team. I could not be more excited for the year ahead for our combined forces.”
