New Radware Hybrid Cloud WAF Service Uses Single Technology to Secure On-Premise and Cloud Apps

By Laura Stotler

Radware has taken protection against cyber attacks into the cloud with a new Hybrid Cloud WAF Service that provides security against Web-based cyber attacks. The new cloud-based solution offers a fully managed, enterprise-grade Web application firewall (WAF) that protects both on-premise and cloud-based applications.

The service has a unique approach to protection in that it uses a single technology for securing on-premise and cloud apps, enabling safer and easier migration to the cloud. Many existing on-premise offerings do not handle cloud apps, requiring a dual technology approach that eats up resources and hinders cloud adoption. The new Hybrid Cloud WAF solution not only defends against Web attacks but also defends and mitigates a variety of DDoS attacks with minimal false positives and without impacting regular network traffic.

“It’s not uncommon for enterprises to distribute their applications both on-premise and in-the-cloud,” said Carl Herberger, vice president of security solutions at Radware. “In addition, we see enterprises employ multiple cloud vendors to host various aspects of their infrastructure. However, having a disparate network infrastructure adds a level of complexity when trying to protect your web applications.”

“When there is no technical integration between on-premise and cloud WAF technologies, organizations are faced with poor quality of detection resulting in poor mitigation options,” added Jon Oltsik, senior principal analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. “Radware’s Hybrid Cloud WAF Service can help bridge this gap by integrating its on-premise devices and WAF technologies with cloud-based coverage to deliver a comprehensive detection and mitigation solution.”

The offering also includes coverage of all of OWASP’s Top 10 security risks. The OWASP project is a broad consensus of the most common and critical Web application security flaws and has been adopted globally as a benchmark for tackling Web security. Additionally, the Hybrid Cloud WAF Service includes support from Radware’s Emergency Response Team of dedicated security experts, who actively monitor and mitigate attacks in real time.
