Managed Service Provider Week in Review: Hughes, Green Cloud, iland

A diverse blend of managed services made their debut this week, as service providers continue to expand their portfolios with value-added solutions. Everything from disaster recovery to B2B services to central service management and delivery was in the offing, making for an exciting week of announcements.

Enterprise cloud infrastructure provider iland is now offering public cloud and disaster recovery services globally. The company has been working on expansion since it first partnered with VMware in 2009, and now operates eight data centers in the U.S., U.K. and Singapore.

Green Cloud Technologies brought in $3.1 million in equity from existing investors this week. The company, which specializes in providing virtual servers, cloud-based infrastructure and disaster recovery services, will use the new funds to expand offerings as well as build up its channel partner base. The company has been experiencing revenue growth for more than two years, and has rolled out new products including managed services, solid state drive configurations and private and hybrid clouds.

OneAccess and Axiros teamed up this week to enable broadband operators to increase their agility and curb their use of over-the-top services. The new partnership is aimed at helping telcos by combining routers from OneAccess with the Axiros Automatic Configuration (ACS) offering.         The combined solution helps operators quickly employ new services across their networks using OneAccess routers and managing services through the AXESS.ACS, either on-premises or through the cloud.

Managed network service provider Hughes made a B2B play this week aimed at helping distributed enterprises with hundreds of branch locations. The company is providing installation, maintenance, support, customer care and WAN services to customers including retailers, restaurants and branch offices. Hughes also offers satellite NOCs and gateways, broadband satellite routers and modems and mobile satellite systems.

Global Cloud Xchange (formerly Reliance Globalcom) has repositioned itself as a supplier of “Cloud X” enterprise-class cloud services, applications and content. The company provides complex multi-tier enterprise applications quickly, directly on customers’ enterprise networks.
