Full stack application performance management solutions provider AppNeta has named its founder, Matt Stevens, the new CEO.
AppNeta's solutions offer performance visibility from the application, through the network and to the end user, and meets the needs of development and IT professionals who build and operate business-critical web applications.
Stevens, who has been the chief technology officer and president of the company for the past few years, will help to reinforce AppNeta as a leader in web application monitoring solutions by guiding it through its next stage of rapid customer and revenue expansion. While he was responsible for leading expansion into the growing web-based APM market in his previous role, he will now be in charge of all corporate, business and product operations around the world.
In a statement, AppNeta Board Chairman Jack Sweeney said, Stevens “provides the technical vision and product expertise to continue the company's aggressive product innovation and solution growth.”
Stevens will replace Jim Melvin, who has been CEO since 2009. During Melvin's run with AppNeta, the company enhanced its solutions portfolio, secured top-tier global customer wins and created a suite of new offerings. Melvin will still actively participate on the AppNeta Board of Directors.
Like Sweeney, managing director at Bain Capital and AppNeta board member Ben Nye, also expressed optimism about Stevens' new role.
“When applications are either slow or unavailable, the business suffers," Nye said in a statement. "Matt has both the technical and business leadership to position AppNeta to satisfy this intense customer need and earn a huge piece of the APM market.”
With regards to APM, AppNeta recently launched a new partner program that makes full stack application performance management solutions available to the manager service provider market. The APM Partner Program, which was created by AppNeta in response to requests from alliance partners, is intended for software as a service and technology services vendors, and includes the complete AppNeta APM suite as well as offers two go-to-market options. N-able by remote monitoring and management company SolarWinds was the first vendor to join the program.
