Comverse Finds a New Partner in UTS

By Lavanya Rathnam

Comverse, a provider of telecom business solutions, has entered into a multi-year agreement with United Telecommunication Services (UTS) to provide support for the latter's billing and customer service management. UTS is a major player in the Caribbean telecommunication market, and is known for providing reliable telecom services to government agencies, businesses and individuals located in South America, Caribbean and European regions.

Under the terms of this contract, UTS will use Comverse's ONE platform for its managed services. Comverse ONE is a billing and active customer management platform that aims to increase the operational efficiency of a company's network and its IT department. It comes with many features such as real-time rating, cyclical billings, active customer management capabilities, single security, holistic maintenance approach, open framework and the ability to handle charges and promotions. These features are expected to help UTS to make its billing and customer management more efficient than before.

With CRM getting increased focus from many businesses, this move by UTS is likely to boost its customer service. Comverse ONE is expected to give an edge to UTS by providing a comprehensive view of each customer by integrating interaction across all channels such as call center, POS, self-service and social media. As a result, UTS will be able to stay on top of the changing preferences of its customers, and will also be able to come up with products that are best suited to meet the needs of its customers.

As for Comverse, this partnership is expected to give the company a better position in the global telecom market. Its image and reach are likely to expand, which means, it is another opportunity to increase its growth and profitability.

For these reasons, this agreement is expected to be a win-win contract for both the companies.
