Reliance Globalcom is Now Global Cloud Xchange

By Rory Lidstone

Reliance Globalcom, a managed services provider and division of Reliance Communications, has decided to rebrand as Global Cloud Xchange. The change was put in place earlier this week and took immediate effect. Its new corporate identity better aligns with the company’s strategic plan to deliver the world’s first true cloud ecosystem globally.

"We are living in an era where mobile applications, social media, key technology drivers and applications will exponentially boost the volume of digital information being shared every second," said Bill Barney, CEO of Global Cloud Xchange, in a statement. "Our new cloud ecosystem means delivering an interwoven portfolio of infrastructure and data center solutions with sophisticated cloud orchestration capabilities."

Global Cloud Xchange’s rebranding is the latest in a recent string of noteworthy rebranding campaigns. For example, back in October, Siemens Enterprise Communications decided to rebrand as Unify — a decision that was arrived at thanks in part to the significant forces that have been reshaping communications and IT lately. More recently, network management company ActionPacked Networks spun out from Referentia Systems and rebranded as LiveAction.

As for Global Cloud Xchange, the company plans to continue integrating its key international assets going forward, with a focus on IP and cloud services. In terms of new plans, the company wants to further build its infrastructure capabilities, as well as its data center footprint, in key emerging markets in Asia and the Middle East especially.

As it focuses on delivering the world’s first true cloud ecosystem, Global Cloud Xchange also plans to update its product portfolio to deliver additional value added solutions.

"As innovation continues in the software layer and big data gets even bigger, business requirements become more sophisticated. Our focus will be on further integrating our global assets to serve existing and future requirements of new media companies, carriers and enterprises. We will meet them at the crossroad of where the future Cloud will migrate," added Barney.
