Tadiran Telecom has been in the business for more than 50 years, and the company has participated in a telephony evolution during that timeframe. The latest evolution for Tadiran is within their product line as the company upgrades customers from their longstanding Coral product line to their latest unified communications offering, Aeonix.
“Aeonix is a software UC solution that consolidates disparate applications for people so that they can buy the software licensing they need depending on what applications they need for communications,” said Mike Long, marketing manager at Tadiran. The company participated at IT EXPO Miami recently as part of their new master distributor deal with Computer Telephony Distributing (CTD). The partnership marks the first major recent distribution agreement in the U.S. for Tadiran, and CTD will offer support for the company’s Coral line as well as upgrade support for Aeonix version 2.2, which was announced at IT EXPO.
The company recently expanded its existing contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in support of the Aeonix software-based IP telephony and unified communications platform. Tadiran will sell and support the solution for an additional five years through the expanded deal, which enables a migration path for Coral solutions as well.
Providing an open architecture and intuitive management tools, the Aeonix platform may be deployed on premises or in a private cloud environment. It may be scaled on demand to meet fluctuating customer needs, supporting from 10 to 25,000 users. The offering provides unified management of all system services and applications, with support for the SIP, CSTA and Web Services standards.
The platform was recently made available on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hybrid cloud configurations. The move is part of Tadiran’s new “Bring Your Own Cloud” approach that enables businesses to choose the cloud service provider that best meets their needs. The goal is to offer customers cost savings and scalability as well as ease of deployment, maintenance and management. The company will offer Aeonix on AWS (and eventually other IaaS providers) as a private cloud solution, and will also install servers at one or more premises in a hybrid cloud configuration. This ensures local backup and full redundancy in the event of a connectivity failure.
“We are proud to introduce the ‘Bring Your Own Cloud’ approach, allowing our customers to choose their preferred infrastructure environment,” said Eldad Barak, president and CEO of Tadiran Telecom. “The Aeonix Hybrid Cloud solution provides a best-in-class solution that combines the benefits of Amazon Web Services with Aeonix’s enhanced UC&C capabilities.”
