Cyberoam Announces Deeper Integration with ConnectWise PSA, a Unified View of Managed Network Services for MSPs

This week, Cyberoam Technologies, a global provider of network security appliances and a Sophos company (having been acquired in February), announces deeper integration between Cyberoam Central Console (CCC) and ConnectWise, a developer of service management software that provides Professional Services Automation (PSA) solutions. The development of end-to-end integration and automation from a single interface, exclusively for IT service providers, VARs, ISVs, and MSPs, aims to provide the most comprehensive system that accelerates process automation management. It also ensures rapid response solutions to simplify security management of service delivery for distributed locations, as explained in a CMO post on its website.

CMO is a new publication in Australia, launched in April 2013 that addresses the unique leadership and management challenges chief marketing officers face. It is the newest media title from IDG Communications, a research company and provider of technology media, events, and more.

“With this augmented integration with ConnectWise, Cyberoam aims to enable enhanced business value, simplified management, and more efficient delivery of managed security services for [their] partners & MSSPs who use Cyberoam Central Console (CCC) for centralized security management as well as ConnectWise,” said Abhilash Sonwane, Sr. Vice President, Product Management at Cyberoam. When it comes to managing and securing customers’ network infrastructure, a growing number of MSPs and MSSPs rely on ConnectWise to automate business process, Sonwane added.

ConnectWise makes it easy for service providers, MSPs, technology consultants, integrators, and developers to manage resources effectively and get control over all of their major processes necessary to deliver true value to clients; Cyberoam offers real-time visibility into network and user activities happening on the network infrastructure over a Web-based dashboard. As for detection of attacks (i.e., Web and IPS threats), Internet access and bandwidth usage (in addition to notifications for CPU, Disk and Memory consumption, VPN connectivity and HA failover), it comes directly from the ConnectWise Management Summary interface.

With ConnectWise, clients can work on tickets and resolve key security events right on the service board; therefore, they know what it is they are doing and why. This improves problem resolution times and one can come aware of any issues before they become reoccurring concerns. The system also provides an audit trail. Cyberoam empowers MSSPs to secure customer networks with its Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) and UTMs, available as hardware and virtual appliances. The network security appliances, which meet security and regulatory compliance requirements, give real-time visibility into network activities. In-depth information is available through the Cyberoam iView that provides open source logging and reporting.

The enhanced and deeper integration comes from ConnectWise using Flowgear middleware; this is “an integration, orchestration and automation platform which facilitates seamless communication between Cyberoam and ConnectWise PSA by leveraging the Application Programming Interface (API) of CCC,” describes Cyberoam. By adding Flowgear between CCC and ConnectWise, the integration enables automatic Ticket Generation and Resolution for all CCC alerts right at ConnectWise PSA dashboard level; thus, “helping MSSPs eliminate manual intervention to generate / resolve tickets and demonstrate timely responsiveness to meet SLAs with confidence,” explains Cyberoam.
