Latisys Integrates ScienceLogic EM7 into its IaaS Platform

Latisys Integrates ScienceLogic EM7 into its IaaS Platform

By Rory Lidstone

Latisys, a provider of hybrid cloud hosting and data center solutions, has introduced new enhancements to its scalable IT infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform. These enhancements help further the company’s commitment to delivering high performance IaaS solutions tailored to the needs of mid to enterprise-sized businesses.

In particular, the enhancements revolve around the integration of ScienceLogic’s next-generation IT monitoring software, EM7. This platform offers unparalleled visibility into and control over the health and performance metrics that matter most to each customer.

Since IT needs are currently in a state of flux — especially for Latisys’ target market which tends to deploy a mix of hybrid hosting, private cloud and data center solutions — the need for federation, the interconnection of disparate IT and cloud infrastructures, is becoming more pressing than ever. ScienceLogic EM7 is a big step toward making hybrid IT and federation possible for Latisys clients.

The EM7 platform integrates core IT monitoring functions across dedicated servers, virtual machines and storage, granting Latisys with greater visibility into performance metrics for more predictive issue diagnosis, root cause analysis and trending.

Aside from expanding its IaaS platform in terms of functionality, Latisys has also been working to expand its market reach in the last year or so. For example, last summer, the company expanded into a new vertical by providing its IaaS to restaurant provider Fishbowl.

"We see a world in which mid-size to enterprise organizations accelerate their investment in hybrid solutions to solve business problems, become more efficient and drive growth," said Christian Teeft, CTO of Latisys, in a statement. "Technology leaders depend on their IaaS partners to manage and monitor effectively across on- and off-premise private and public cloud environments. ScienceLogic helps Latisys make this a reality, further cementing our place as a leading platform for flexible, federated IT infrastructure."

Primary benefits of Latisys’ new enterprise monitoring include a seamless single console view into areas like service levels, health and availability; the ability to create context-rich dashboards and role-based views; and visibility beyond the Latisys platform.
