Peak Achieves Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification for IaaS Providers

By Laura Stotler

IaaS cloud provider Peak has become the latest service provider to achieve the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification (CMSP) for IaaS providers. The designation enables Peak, as well as the company’s partners, to sell cloud-based solutions based on Cisco hardware, services and support.

Cisco awards the certification to companies deemed capable of selling and delivering cloud and managed services with the goal of accelerating time to market and revenue. Part of the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Program, the CMSP, is meant to help Cisco partners design, build, market and sell cloud and managed services.

Peak’s platform is built on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework, offering basic management capabilities that support Cisco technologies. The company joins a host of other IaaS and service providers that have earned the CMSP designation over the past few months.

EarthLink was awarded certification in December, shortly after launching private cloud hosting services as well as its FlexCloud hosting service for unified cloud management. The provider is backed by Cisco solutions throughout its portfolio of cloud services, which also include Cloud Hosting and Cloud Disaster Recovery.

MSP Cirrity was also certified in January for its cloud and managed services expertise as well as the company’s significant investments in the space. Cirrity provides several “as a service” solutions, including its vStream DRaaS, remote desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) and hybrid cloud IaaS offerings. The service provider also directs customers through sales solutions, technical support and deployment assistance.

"Peak is the first channel-only cloud service provider to pass the Advanced CMSP certification in the Infrastructure as a Service category, opening up an additional platform that our resellers and distributors may offer to their clients," said Luke Norris, CEO and founder of Peak. "Now that Peak is Cisco-powered, Cisco VARs may easily re-sell, white label or become an agent and incorporate Peak's secure cloud, into their current managed services portfolio."

"Earning the Cisco-Powered designation for IaaS providers makes Peak's cloud ideal for our product portfolio," added Matt Karst, senior director of cloud solutions at Comstor. The company is the Cisco-dedicated business unit at Westcon, and chose Peak’s Cisco-powered enterprise-class cloud offering. "We have enjoyed Peak's 100 percent channel centric model -- as it ensures our partners' sales teams don't compete for the same clients."
