Hamilton Jewelers Using Evolve IP OneCloud Platform for Unified Communications, DR and Network Security Services

Hamilton Jewelers has entered the cloud, and the national jeweler has deployed Evolve IP’s OneCloud platform across its network. The company is using the cloud for unified communications along with disaster recovery, colocation and network security services.

The OneCloud solution provides a unified option for a variety of cloud services, and is being used for virtual data centers and servers, virtual desktops, unified communications solutions, disaster recovery services and contact centers. Organizations have the option of migrating some or all of their IT technologies and services to the platform, and benefit from security, scalability and a lower total cost of ownership.

According to Larry Smith, manager of financial reporting for Hamilton, the company initially deployed Evolve IP’s unified communications and IP phone system and were impressed by the quality of service and business continuity benefits. “Afterward, when we looked for a partner for virtualizing our DR services, their unique OneCloud platform made the choice easy,” said Smith. “Having a single partner with geographically redundant, active-active data centers makes managing the cloud simple and effective.”

“With the spate of recent weather in the north, businesses are learning that having dependable cloud solutions can be key to maintaining productivity and continuity,” added Tim Allen, chief sales officer for Evolve IP. “Hamilton Jewelers hasn’t missed a beat this winter and their locations in Florida have done equally well through some powerful hurricanes.”

Last week, Evolve IP announced its Cloud Connect solution providing an alternative to MPLS services. The offering combines bandwidth from multiple public connections from nearly any carrier into a single virtual connection that may be used to access the company’s cloud, as well as the Internet and other cloud-based services. The connection is achieved through advanced bonding technology from the company’s partner, Multapplied Networks, which enables users to leverage multiple connections at the packet level instead of the session level. The helps Evolve to offer high levels of QoS behind a single IP, providing a cost-effective alternative to MPLS networks.
