German MSP Modcomp Signs Multi-million Dollar Managed Security Services Agreement

By Laura Stotler

The German subsidiary of Massachusetts service provider CSP, Inc. has signed a multi-million dollar managed services agreement, its largest to date. MSP Modcomp will be providing end-to-end managed security services for a global IT services firm over a three-year span.

The new agreement extends the company’s existing relationship with the customer, and will include 24x7 on-site security services provided to a global customer base. Features will include hotline and online support, escalation procedures, updates, patches and bug fixes and on-site hardware exchange and system recovery.

Modcomp will work with a number of security partners to deliver the services, including Check Point, Juniper Networks, McAfee, Sourcefire, Tufin, Radware, F5 Networks and Tripwire. The ultimate goal of the managed services contract will be to deliver a high security standard for all users, no matter which type of device or connection they are using.

"Modcomp's extensive experience in delivering managed services solutions was a key factor in winning this contract and expanding our relationship amid tough competition," said Frank Puetz, managing director for Modcomp. "Having partnered with this customer for several years, we fully understand what is required to deliver the highly responsive managed security services they require."

CSP has been on a rapid growth trajectory over the past few months, and in November the company scooped up Myricom, a provider of high-performance interconnect technology. The company’s Myri-10G 10G Ethernet adapters and network adapter software are offered by the MSP, and CSP also announced enhancements to the product line in December.

Modcomp specializes in both managed IT and professional services in Europe as well as North America. Offerings include server monitoring and management and management of networks, workstations, security and backup operations.
