SkyVision Helps SAPETRO Expand Operations with Managed Connectivity Services

By Laura Stotler

Communications and managed service provider (MSP) SkyVision Global Networks Ltd. has completed a project with South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO), a Nigerian oil and gas upstream company. The companies have set up new SAPETRO operations in Benin that include a full complement of SkyVision connectivity solutions. SkyVision is handling ongoing management of the services as well through a five-year contract.

The new contract covers an end-to-end voice and data managed solution based on a number of technologies, plus integration and professional services. Features include mesh VSAT and wireless point-to-multipoint connections for SAPETRO offices and operational sites. SkyVision is also managing mobile terrestrial units and vessels and integrated services like VoIP, two-way radios, mobile satellite phones, managed firewall and WiFi.

“We are thrilled to have engaged the services of SkyVision for this important project which is geared towards providing robust high-tech turnkey communication infrastructure to support our operations in the Sèmè Field,” said Martin Trachsel, CEO of SAPETRO. “We found SkyVision's comprehensive suite of services, technological expertise and pricing, a compelling offer and one which met our expectations”.

“This important project win, marks SkyVision's far-reaching commitment to oil and gas customers throughout Africa, as we further our commitment to delivering quality voice and data communications where they are needed most,” added Golan Madar, COO of SkyVision. “We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with SAPETRO and to providing them with reliable and efficient technologies and services, today, and well into the future.”

The African oil and gas industry is a major area of focus for SkyVision, since the sector has very specific connectivity needs both in the field and for connecting remote branch offices to meet both safety and communication standards. SkyVision backs up its managed services with global infrastructure and 24/7 technical assistance centers and NOCs.
