Italtel Achieves Cisco Master Cloud Builder Specialization

By Laura Stotler

MSP and IP communications specialist Italtel has achieved Cisco Master Cloud Builder Specialization. The recognition designates the Milan-based company as having all the necessary capabilities to build and deploy cloud-ready integrated infrastructures based on solutions from Cisco and its cloud partners.

Master Cloud Builder Specialization encompasses the Cisco technology partner ecosystem and a variety of cloud offerings including virtualization, virtual desktops and cloud management. Italtel meets the requirements based on the company’s in-depth skills relating to Cisco technologies and architectures.

Cisco recognizes its Master Cloud Builders based on demonstrated customer success in selling and deploying value-added Cisco data center and cloud solutions. Italtel has already been recognized with a Cisco Advanced Managed Services Certification for its investment in ITIL processes, practices and tools for offering managed services.

The company now wants to move beyond Master Cloud Builder status and is proposing new business models to its customers in an effort to become a Cloud Provider enabler. That means Italtel will supply both services and applications to its customers utilizing Cisco’s Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS).

"This new certification is the final achievement in our journey to the cloud, started in 2010 and built through major awards from Cisco,” said Camillo Ascione, co-head product unit network & system integration at Italtel. "Today Italtel is focused on completing its offer in cloud by moving gradually towards the IT area. To the infrastructure components traditionally in our portfolio and dedicated to delivering data center or cloud solutions, we are adding IT components, in particular big data with a focus on analytics."

That type of diversification is a common trend among cloud providers as they integrate new value-added services to meet their customers’ increasingly granular needs. As enterprises continue to migrate their applications and infrastructure to the cloud, services focused on the monitoring and management of massive amounts of data are crucial. The ability to sift through that data and derive actionable intelligence from it offers massive benefits to customers and cloud service providers alike.

Cloud service providers and other channel partners can build and showcase a variety of Cisco technologies and skills via the Cisco Resale Channel Program. The program (which encompasses the Master Cloud Builder specialization) uses third-party audit processes to validate partners’ skills, business practices and support capabilities as well as their customer satisfaction.
