MegaPath Dishing Out Knowledge at ITEXPO

MegaPath Dishing Out Knowledge at ITEXPO

By Blaise McNamee

ITEXPO is now in full swing, and Gold Sponsor MegaPath, a provider of managed data, voice, security and hosted IT services in North America, is certainly taking advantage of this unique gathering of technology professionals and enthusiasts.  In addition to hosting an exhibition booth (No. 906), several of the company’s executives will be participating in sessions regarding the cloud market throughout the week.

In fact, MegaPath Vice President of Channel Sales Matt Hutchinson already took part in a session called “The SMB Cloud Market Needs You!” where he, Emil Sayegh, president and CEO of Codero Hosting, and MSPToday’s Doug Barney discussed the trend towards packaging cloud services for SMB consumption and why it is critical for long-term growth and customer retention.

“As organizations continue leveraging the cloud to streamline business operations and IT expenses, it is important for business technology executives and partners to understand the challenges and opportunities these solutions present. The cloud-focused panels at ITEXPO and the Cloud4SMB Expo will discuss the revenue opportunities that cloud-based solutions present, as well as best practices for selling and delivering them,” Hutchinson said.

As a 20-year technology industry veteran, Hutchinson’s insight offers an invaluable look into the current status and future of the cloud industry.  Those who missed yesterday’s panel will have the chance to hear from Hutchinson again, today, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m., during the panel session “Recurring Revenue – The Secret to Service Provider Success.” This session will consider the cloud and managed service model, why it has become so attractive to both providers and businesses, and best practices for service providers and resellers .

At the time of this writing, however, readers may be cutting it too close.  Fortunately, Hutchinson’s colleague, MegaPath Vice President of Sales Engineering Bernie McGroder, will also be participating a couple panel sessions, taking place both today and tomorrow.  The first, titled “NFV: Why the Software Telco is the Path to Growth” (Jan. 29, 1:30-2:15 p.m.), will look at how virtualization and software “appliances” are changing networks and creating a massive opportunity for new entrants and incumbent providers alike, while the second, “Revolutionizing Communications for the Connected Business” (Jan. 30, 2014, 2:30-3:15 p.m.), will explore questions regarding the use of communications technology to drive revenue, reduce costs, and ultimately gain a competitive advantage.

McGroder has responsibility for all MegaPath customer pre-sales, solutions, and designs, including IP WAN, LAN, security, voice, solution delivery and operational support—so his insight is not to be missed.

For a more detailed look into MegaPath’s panel schedule, check out the conference agenda.  Also, be sure to look into the series of MegaPath University educational sessions to take place at ITEXPO Jan. 30.
