Lunarline Wins Managed Security Services Contract for Federal Agency

By Laura Stotler

Lunarline, a provider of cyber security services, training and products to the government and intelligence sectors as well as the private sector, has won a Managed Security Services contract. The company will provide services to a major federal cabinet agency, which is unnamed due to confidentiality rules.

Managed Security Services from Lunarline include 24/7 cyber security monitoring as well as analysis and forensics capabilities. Offerings are built around the company’s suite of cyber security toolsets to help customers fight a variety of cyber threats.

The company serves the Department of Defense but is equally suited to supporting private enterprise and SMBs. The company’s services include an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and a Security Incident Event Manager (SIEM) and the company also offers full access to their proprietary suite of cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability analysis tools.

"We took a long, hard look at the Managed Security Services industry and knew that we could do better," said Waylon Krush, CEO of Lunarline. "This win validates our team's efforts to develop innovative outsourced security monitoring capabilities that can hold their own against the industry's largest, most advanced service providers."

The market for managed security services is growing steadily, with the government providing a healthy share of revenues. A report from Transparency Market Research shows the market was worth $9.2 million in 2012 and will reach $24.1 million by 2019. Cloud-based managed security services are an emerging sector of the space and are expected to drive future growth.

According to Corey Johnson, program manager for Lunarline, the company provides cyber monitoring, analysis and forensics support from its secure facility. Lunarline also retains a team of certified cyber security specialists to support a variety of clients across the intelligence, defense, civilian and private sectors.
