Cobalt Data Centers Partners with INVITE Networks on Managed Telecom Carrier Services

By Laura Stotler

Multi-tenant data center provider Cobalt Data Centers has partnered with INVITE Networks on telecom carrier management. The company will use INVITE as its exclusive telecommunications agent through the arrangement, and they will also comprise Cobalt’s Carrier Relations Department.

The contract is significant for INVITE, which will handle all carrier management for Cobalt. Carrier management will encompass interfacing with all carriers on procurement of both new and existing services as well as troubleshooting and resolving billing and service issues and handling contract renewals for Cobalt. The data center provider specializes in offering customers secure, high-density colocation and managed services.

"We feel the real 'win' here for our customers is to have an in-house department with the relationships with all of the AT&Ts, Verizons, CenturyLinks of the telecommunications world and be able to very quickly identify the best connectivity at the most competitive price," said Jeff Brown, president of Cobalt.

"Our ability to negotiate the litany of carriers and the various connectivity options is critical as a business is deciding which data center to select – INVITE fills that void," added Ryan Draayer, co-founder of INVITE Networks.

Cobalt also views the decision as a way to become more competitive as well as focus on their core competencies, leaving the hassle of negotiating and maintaining carrier relationships to the telecom experts. Based in Las Vegas, Cobalt’s Tier III data center is designed to offer a secure, high-density environment for customer data, as well as provide high levels of customer service. The company also focuses on cultivating an ecosystem of network, carrier and business partners, and the partnership with INVITE will certainly help expand that.

Last month, Cobalt announced a partnership with OffsiteDataSync (ODS), which is colocating in the Cobalt facility. The company offers cloud, disaster recovery and backup services and the partnership is helping the New York-based service provider expand its West Coast presence.
