AVG Gives MSPs More CloudCare

AVG Gives MSPs More CloudCare

By Doug Barney

In October of 2012, AVG Technologies made a major push into the MSP space by releasing CloudCare. CloudCare is the main tool AVG pitches to MSPs and even has a special portal to serve that channel. CloudCare helps MSP partners by providing administration of customer sites through the cloud. Like some of its consumer software, MSPs can use CloudCare for free, at least for now.

The tool includes custom reports, alerts, single click product deactivation or installation, and automatic upgrades.

This week AVG revamped the tool by adding a module that integrates CloudCare Online Backup with the AVG Managed Workplace remote monitoring & management (RMM) system.

Now MSPs can manage client’s backups from a single Managed Workplace dashboard.

“This enhancement to the service module for AVG CloudCare and AVG Managed Workplace is further evidence of our commitment to delivering a fully integrated platform of trust that gives our partners everything they need to run business efficiently while keeping down their administration costs,” said Mike Foreman, General Manager, SMB, AVG Technologies. “We have been working hard to bring together quickly all elements of the AVG business portfolio so that MSPs can have a consolidated, cross-network view of all their customers' systems via a single pane of glass.”

An AVG CloudCare Partner Example

A recent AVG partner is Infrascale Inc., a twelve-year-old outfit that sells cloud-based file collaboration and backup tools to end users and SMBs, as well as service providers. The backup tool, SOS, was also the company’s previous name.

While AVG boasts some 170 million individuals protected, Infrascale points to 100,000 businesses whose data it safeguards.

One goal of the partnership is to offer all the AVG customers, SMBs in particular, a trusted backup solution. Another goal is boosting the use of CloudCare, something Infrascale is charged with doing.
