Nimdesk and Artisan Infrastructure Partner on DaaS Solution for MSPs and Cloud Providers

Nimdesk and Artisan Infrastructure Partner on DaaS Solution for MSPs and Cloud Providers

By Laura Stotler

Nimdesk and Artisan Infrstructure have teamed up to provide managed service providers (MSPs), ISVs and system integrators with enhanced functionality for the Nimdesk Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering. Nimdesk will now be deployable quickly and more efficiently through the ecosystem of Artisan, a wholesale provider of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS).

Nimdesk’s virtual desktop solution is built to provide both Windows and Linux desktops across multiple tenants spanning multiple data centers. The offering’s software stack may be scaled out to thousands of virtual desktops via a single grid cluster and management console. It may be deployed as a DaaS platform or on-premise as a virtual desktop solution and may also be used to enhance existing deployments of the company’s Remote Desktop Services (RDS).

"Our products provide options for partners and end users to brand or co-brand all interface panels; host on-site, co-location, or in the cloud; and generate custom admin control portals and user web portals to suit the unique needs of the partner, service provider, and customer," said Sterling Andersen, chief sales officer for Nimdesk. He added that the partnership with Artisan will enable huge opportunities for MSPs, cloud service providers, ISPs and even enterprises to offer DaaS and virtual desktop infrastructure solutions affordably.

Artisan brings its Cornerstone virtual private data center platform to the table. The solution lets service providers deploy and manage their own cloud solutions while retaining autonomy, control, security and visibility. It may be scaled from single site, multi-tenant environments to dedicated infrastructure spread across multiple continents. The company’s customers include MSPs and IT solution providers as well as SaaS developers, PaaS providers, VoIP providers and VARs.

According to Artisan, the final result of their collaboration with Nimdesk was proven in a Scalable Services Design. The solution, created on Artisan’s infrastructure, offers service providers an affordable DaaS solution that is easily deployable and branded within minutes.
