Xerox, long a market leader in the managed print services (MPS) space, has revised its managed print and document services strategy to offer a more refined process that provides better efficiencies to customers.
A new set of expanded offerings are geared toward the “always-on” workplace and bring-your-own device (BYOD) trends, which enable work to take place anytime and anywhere. The ramped up offerings include technology, document management, business process solutions and IT outsourcing capabilities that are designed to deal with the virtual content explosion associated with the “always-on” workplace.
"Work is no longer a physical place,” said Mike Feldman, president, Large Enterprise Operations, Xerox. “It happens anytime, anywhere - causing both challenges and opportunities. Our next generation of managed print services helps clients take control of information while managing everyday concerns such as productivity, mobility, security and sustainability."
Xerox has designed a three-stage approach to MPS, meant to help bridge the paper and digital worlds. The first step is to assess and optimize, and the company offers its Xerox CompleteView Pro solution along with Production Assessment Services to meet this goal. CompleteView Pro provides visual dashboards through a web-based interaction application and Xerox has added new features like improved solution modeling, support for solid ink devices and the ability for users to upload custom pricing for non-Xerox equipment. The Production Assessment Services review production print environments for achieving a direct path to cost savings and efficiencies.
The second step in the Xerox MPS game plan is to secure and integrate services. The company offers its Xerox Print Security Audit Service for monitoring print policies and identifying and resolving compliance issues. The Print Server Management Service frees customer resources since Xerox manages and consolidates print servers, queues and drivers. And the Mobile Print Solution provides secure printing through the Xerox Mobile Print app, enabling users to print from desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices.
The final component in Xerox’s ramped up MPS strategy is to automate and simplify services. The company accomplishes this through the Xerox Content Management Services, which reduce paper and help customers simplify and automate processes. The Xerox Ignite solution is designed for educators, and electronically grades exams while also producing analytics to enable customized learning based on student progression.
