LabTech and Webroot Team Up to Integrate Endpoint Security into RMM Platform

LabTech Software and Webroot have teamed up in an effort to integrate their solutions and make deployment and management of endpoint security solutions on the LabTech remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform easier.

 The integrated offering also helps the LabTech partners to access new sources of revenue using the company’s platform. The cloud-based Webroot Secure Anywhere portfolio has been added to the platform, providing fast and efficient endpoint security solutions.

 Webroot’s offerings include threat protection and fast scans that don’t require patches and signature updates. Since the burden of malware protection is located in the cloud, operating systems and hardware resources are freed up, ultimately saving time and money for MSPs.

 "Partnering with Webroot allows us to further deliver on integrated solutions that can be managed through the single-pane-of-glass within LabTech,” said Matt Nachtrab, CEO LabTech Software.

 “We recognize that traditional endpoint security has created many challenges for MSPs,” added Charlie Tomeo, vice president of channel and technical sales at Webroot. “With Webroot's cloud-based security solution, MSPs will be able to not only gain additional profits, but also significantly reduce the complexities and inefficiencies normally associated with managing a security solution."

 The cloud-based security services sector is on the rise, with Gartner predicting it will grow from $2.1 billion this year to $3.1 billion by 2015. The market offers massive opportunities for MSPs, with email security, web security services and identity and access management (IAM) leading the most sought after services. Cloud-based tokenization and encryption, security information and event management (SIEM), vulnerability assessment and web application firewalls comprise the highest areas of growth.

Advantages of Webroot’s cloud-based solutions include an overall reduction of management time for MSPs deploying and administering solutions. Offerings require no hardware and may be installed and managed anywhere and at any time. Solutions also use cloud-based big data to provide additional protection to service providers. Added features include instant rollback and remote remediation without the need to re-image machines. This offers productivity improvements and lowers the total costs of ownership for MSPs.
