MSP eHosting DataFort Extends DR and Business Continuity Contract with Dubai Financial Market

By Laura Stotler

MSP eHosting DataFort (eHDF) has extended its contract with the Dubai Financial Market (DFM). The company announced DFM has renewed its contract for IT hosting services with eHDF based on the service provider’s consistent performance in the areas of disaster recovery and availability.

eHDF has been able to provide the financial market 99.98 percent availability on its DFM web application disaster recovery platform. That type of availability is crucial in the financial services sector, where web applications must be kept live and updated and investors must be consistently connected to trading information.

"We partnered with eHosting DataFort for ensuring high availability of services to our customers,” said Hasan Abdulrahman Al Serkal, executive vice-president, COO and head of operations division for the Dubai Financial Market. He added that eHDF’s services complement the DFM’s in-house IT capabilities, creating an ideal partnership.

The MSP offers high levels of service and security throughout its Tier 3 data hosting facility. eHDF is also ISO and Business Continuity Management certified, and those factors contributed to DFM initially choosing the service provider in 2005. Through that agreement, eHDF hosts replication and backup for the DFM website and offers a variety of managed services. Those are intended to offer backup in the event of service interruptions, fluctuations in demand and other factors that could impact service availability.

The financial services market is one of the main verticals adopting disaster recovery and business continuity services. MarketsandMarkets predicts the global market for disaster-recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) and cloud-based business continuity will rise from $640.8 million this year to $5.77 billion by 2018. That’s a whopping CAGR of 55.2 percent, and the banking, financial services and insurance sector is one of the top verticals driving that growth.

eHDF provides a variety of additional managed services to the DFM in support of disaster recovery and business continuity. These include routine reviews of technology as well as continuous monitoring and load balancing, which ensures services are consistently available. Data is transferred to the MSP’s data centers in real time via MPLS for updating servers, storage and applications.

"Over the years, we have developed an excellent synergy with DFM that goes beyond a normal client-supplier relationship,” said Yasser Zeineldin, CEO of eHDF. “We have a comprehensive understanding of our client's business and their associated requirements. In line with this, our team works round-the-clock to ensure the delivery of a seamless world class hosting service."
