Pongo Extends Managed Cloud Services Contract with Xand

By Laura Stotler

Xand and Pongo have announced an extended partnership for managed cloud services. Pongo, which offers an online resume builder, has contracted to use a variety of cloud solutions and managed services from Xand for three years.

Pongo is using the custom suite of xCloud solutions from Xand for virtualized infrastructure. Offerings include servers, storage, security, databases, network and operating systems and the solutions are teamed with traditional colocation services from MSP Xand.

Xand operates data centers in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts, providing colocation, monitoring, environmental controls and maximum application performance and availability. The MSP’s managed services include business continuity, disaster recovery and managed networking.

The service provider has been working to expand its offerings and added 35,000 square feet of dedicated and shared workspace to two of its facilities at the beginning of the year, in response to Hurricane Sandy. Earlier this month, Xand partnered with Line Systems to launch colocation, managed hosting and cloud IaaS using Line’s network backbone.

Pongo spent several years operating and managing its own hosting environment before deciding to move to the cloud. According to Rodney Capron, Jr., president and CEO of Pongo, migration to the cloud was a difficult choice as the company relies on maximum application performance and availability to serve its millions of users.

“Meeting with the team at Xand, I was left with the strong impression that the company had real experience managing VMware, storage, and the other core technology platforms my company requires to operate,” said Capron. “We also took a lot of comfort in knowing that Xand provides 24x7 support. When we call with an issue, someone who understands our environment is there to pick up the phone.”

“We’re honored that Pongo has chosen to extend its relationship with Xand on the basis of our successful track record and years of experience designing, building, and managing enterprise-class cloud infrastructure,” said John Holland, senior vice president of sales at Xand. “Our flexible solutions, highly-available infrastructure, and responsive technical support back Pongo’s mission around the clock, and Xand’s scalable xCloud platforms are well positioned to meet any future demands they may face.”
