Daisy Group Acquires Indecs in Managed Services Deal Valued at Nearly $29 Million

By Laura Stotler

U.K. managed service provider (MSP) Daisy Group, which specializes in unified communications and telephony solutions, has acquired Indecs Computer Services Limited and Indecs Computers in a bid to expand its business. The transaction is valued at close to $29 million and will boost Daisy’s IT and cloud support services as well as the ability to support legacy systems.

Daisy claims the acquisition could boost its recurring revenue stream by 80 percent once it has been finalized. The MSP, which serves SMEs, mid-market and enterprise customers, plans to offer a broader range of services through the acquisition.

Indecs specializes in providing custom maintenance contracts and IT server and cloud storage facilities for its private and public-sector clients. Partners include HP, IBM, Cisco, Sun, Dell and Oracle.

Daisy has been steadily expanding its reach, and the service provider acquired MoCo Communications in June, adding a range of communication, network and digital solutions to its portfolio. The MSP previously acquired telecom solutions provider O-bit Telecom and Fone Logistics, a supplier of mobile handsets and airtime.

The MSP’s unified communication solutions include telephone systems, VoIP, hosting, mobile and broadband offerings. The Daisy CloudSelect IaaS offering resides in secure U.K.-based data centers and uses the company’s own network. Customers may easily and quickly scale server capacity through a self-service portal and only pay for what they need. The solution is available as a hybrid offering, blending traditional on-premise and cloud hardware and services.

“Indecs represents a strong strategic fit and clear growth opportunity for the Group,” said Matthew Riley, CEO of Daisy Group, of the Indecs acquisition. “Its multi-vendor specialist maintenance and support services further expand Daisy’s IT services offering and give the Group the ability to support businesses on legacy IT systems as well as those investing in cloud solutions and cloud-based data storage.”
