Ricoh Canada Partners with CTERA to Offer Cloud Backup & Recovery Services

By Laura Stotler

Backup and recovery services are becoming an important staple in managed service provider (MSP) portfolios. Ricoh Canada Inc. this and has added RCloud Services: Backup & Recovery to its suite of cloud offerings, powered by CTERA’s cloud storage platform.

The new services are centered on speedy backup and protection of data without the costs and other associated burdens of on-premises offerings. RCloud Services are being offered as part of Ricoh Canada’s cloud-based enterprise content management (ECM) solution, which was rolled out earlier in the year.

The new cloud services combine a secure, managed cloud infrastructure with the convenience of on-premises appliance for local storage and backup. Ricoh automates the network-optimized solution, protecting its customers from data loss.

RCloud Services use CTERA’s cloud storage platform to offer a customizable solution that may be managed exclusively for clients. Platform features include mobile access to files, secure file sync and sharing capabilities that are provided as a managed service and hybrid backup comprised of cloud and local storage.

CTERA’s platform may be scaled to tens of thousands of sites and hundreds of thousands of end users as well as centrally managed. It offers integration with multiple storage infrastructure back ends to avoid lock-in, and may be private labeled.

"Our partnership with Ricoh Canada demonstrates how CTERA's technology can empower IT service providers to rapidly launch and manage branded cloud services, while eliminating the need for custom development and integration,” said Don Fuller, senior director of sales at CTERA.

"Safeguarding business data today is absolutely vital," said Eric Fletcher, VP marketing for Ricoh Canada. "It's an area of concern we hear about repeatedly in the market, and Ricoh's RCloud Services: Backup & Recovery addresses this head on: it's a cost effective solution that brings together a unique hybrid of cloud and local backup technologies - hosted entirely in Canada."

"Cloud technology has taken a service formerly reserved only for a select few, and made it available - and in a highly improved form - to any business that values its data,” added Fletcher. “And I'd argue that means everyone."
