Connecticut Network Services Nears Completion of Expanded Fiber Optics

By Laura Stotler

Telecom service consultant Connecticut Network Services.com is undergoing a major fiber optic network expansion that is set to benefit customers throughout the world. The company, which is operated and managed by SolveForce, has assured its customers that the expansion will not affect day-to-day operations or service delivery.

According to the service provider, the project is near completion and will help in the delivery of Metro Fiber Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet services.

Connecticut Network Services also hopes to add a variety of new managed offerings, including Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS), Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). The company also plans to add additional telecom offerings like hosted PBX systems, cable Internet, SIP trunks and Ethernet private lines.

Providing infrastructure and value-added solutions “as a service” is driving cloud adoption and causing the market to virtually explode. Gartner estimates the current public cloud services market at $131 billion and forecasts it will reach $677 billion by 2016. IaaS comprises the fastest growing segment but there are a number of other areas that are expected to drive forward momentum.

Cloud advertising brought in the most revenue in 2012, followed by business process services (BPaaS), which comprised 28 percent of the market. SaaS made up 14.7 percent, followed by IaaS at 5.5 percent. And cloud management and security services had a piece of the pie at 2.8 percent, while platform-as-a-service (PaaS) had a small slice at one percent.

With cloud adoption growing at such a rapid rate, managed service providers (MSPs) and consultants will regularly be rolling out solutions on an “as a service” basis. Connecticut Network Services has already found a unique niche in the telecom services space and maintains a giant list of partners ranging from AT&T to Comcast to DirecTV to Level 3 to Qwest.

Managed by Telecom Master Agency SolveForce, the company aims to aggregate service providers and coverage areas into one easy-to-use solution. The company offers the GenQuote system, which helps users examine a vast variety of commercial broadband and voice products and pricing. A limited version of the software is available for free on its website.

Connecticut Network Services also offers a team of experts to consult customers and help them obtain additional discounts when applicable. Staff will work with clients through the ordering and provisioning process and keep them informed of current options since carriers and products are added continuously.
