Managed Service Provider Week in Review

While this week was peppered with news of the usual acquisitions, partnerships and product announcements, the big newsmaker in MSP Today’s neck of the woods was Virtela. The company, a provider of managed security and cloud services, won TMC’s Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

Virtela’s Managed IT Infrastructure Services were honored with the award, which TMC bases on innovation in the areas of voice, video and data. The managed services from Virtela feature predictive analytics and automation to help the company manage data centers and ensure networks are both speedy and secure.

MSP NaviSite also announced this week a fully managed web application firewall (WAF) service. The offering is part of the company’s Alert Logic portfolio of security solutions, and is being offered through a software-as-service (SaaS) model. Time Warner Cable company NaviSite has a longstanding partnership with Alert Logic to deliver SaaS security solutions.

IndependenceIT also had a piece of good news to announce this week, revealing its Cloud Workspace Suite is now integrated with ConnectWise. The move lets customers like VARs, MSPs and software vendors manage their cloud and on-premises support tickets through ConnectWise. This saves time and offers convenience for IT admins, who may manage their tickets through one convenient interface.

On the partnership front, RMM provider LabTech and VaultLogix announced they were joining forces. VaultLogix provides cloud backup to resellers and SMBs. The companies are working together to integrate cloud backup with LabTech RMM so that cloud storage may be monitored efficiently.
