Avant Communications to Offer Cosentry Data Center, Colocation Services

By Laura Stotler

Technology distributor Avant Communications is teaming up with data center provider Cosentry in a new partnership. Avant will be offering a variety of Cosentry's services through its own line of solutions, and the companies will also work together to design new and affordable solutions.

Cosentry's services include cloud offerings, colocation and managed hosting services. The companies plan to develop innovative new offerings geared toward reducing risk for customers while also providing a strong and secure, performance-based infrastructure.

The partnership follows a prevalent trend in the managed service provider (MSP) space, in which companies are teaming up to share and profit from each others' core competencies. Just last week, Comcast announced it was partnering with Cologix on data center and colocation services. By working together instead of directly competing on services, providers are able to keep costs down, reduce direct competition and gain valuable expertise and sales and marketing exposure by adding valued partners.

“We were interested in partnering with Cosentry due to their reputation as a high quality provider of data center and cloud computing services," said Ian Kieninger, CEO for Avant Communications. "They have the largest data center network in the region, and are able to achieve high performance and maintain a secure and flexible cloud service platform for our partners. Cosentry’s services add to our existing relationships to provide best in class services.”

“Avant’s enviable market position with leading VARs, SIs, and Agents, propels Cosentry to help us reach our channel goals,” said Johnny Perales, national director of channel for Cosentry. “The reach and strategy we have built will allow us to support clients with best in class cloud and data center services.”

Cosentry's data center services are concentrated in the Midwest region and take into account customers' entire IT infrastructures. The company helps clients virtualize, consolidate, optimize or completely outsource their data center and IT infrastructures.
