Kaseya Scoops Oracle, NetSuite Vets in Executive Suite Remodel

By Doug Barney

Kaseya is on the move. The MSP provider was recently acquired by Insight Venture Partners, but kept its brand and apparently its mojo.

Recent case in point -- the hiring of Oracle and NetSuite execs to bolster the sales and marketing teams.

First up is of Loren Weinberg Jarrett, the new Kaseya chief marketing officer (CMO). Not only was Jarrett in product management at Oracle, she more recently served as a VP for American Express, so she knows the customer side as well.

Second up is Brian Murphy, new chief sales officer (CSO). Besides handling sales at NetSuite, Murphy served similar roles at BeyondTrust, Deltek and Nexaweb.

“With new computing paradigms such as cloud and BYOD evolving rapidly, IT environments are becoming more complex every day. MSPs and enterprises are looking for flexible management solutions to help them deliver new levels of business agility,” said Jarrett, who believes Kaseya fits that bill.

And just last week, Kaseya hired Prakash Khot as its new CTO.

Plus, Kaseya CEO Yogesh Gupta is also new, having come with the Insight buyout.

Not Just Hiring, but Buying, too

Not long after the Insight deal, Kaseya went ahead and bought Zyrion, which has IT service monitoring and cloud services and was already a partner.

For Kaseya, the deal shows it is “all in on MSPs. “Kaseya is committed to its MSP strategy, which includes serving our current partners and aggressively growing our MSP partner base, as well as our enterprise customers. The Zyrion products are also used extensively by MSPs and enterprises, so this acquisition furthers our strategy to provide the world’s leading IT management solutions to our core markets. We will continue to go to market directly as well as through our partners,” Kaseya officials said at the time of the acquisition.

While Kaseya and Zyrion both offer monitoring, Kaseya sees the tools as more complimentary than competitive.

“The Zyrion product line is a rich business-centric cloud and IT service monitoring solution that complements current monitoring from Kaseya. Our customers have been asking for a complete and sophisticated solution that provides correlated, service-oriented views of the entire cloud, application and network as well as the ability to quickly pinpoint, address and resolve any network infrastructure problem that impacts business services,” Kaseya argued.
