Latisys Signs Multi-Year Contract for Colocation and Managed Hosting with Fishbowl

By Laura Stotler

Fishbowl, a provider of performance-based marketing solutions for the restaurant industry, has signed a multi-year agreement with Latisys. The contract has Latisys providing the company with a hybrid of colocation and managed hosting, which will support Fishbowl's critical online business services and applications.

The new solution is being delivered through the Latisys high-density SOC 2/SOC 3 audited data center in Ashburn, Va. It includes a national hosting and cloud platform comprised of a variety of technologies from companies like HP, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, Cisco and F5.

The managed component of the hybrid offering features multiple VMware clusters, blended IP network services, firewalls, load balancing and managed storage and backup services. The colocation and managed services will support Fishbowl's service offerings, which enable large restaurant chains and independent restaurants to drive sales via guest acquisition, engagement and analytics. The service provider supports more than 45,000 restaurant locations and manages a sizable guest database with more than 110 million opt-in members.

"Our rapid business growth, combined with the IT-intensive nature of our online services, necessitated a complete outsourced IaaS environment," said Andrew McCasker, chief technology officer of Fishbowl. "Latisys worked closely with us to deliver a flexible, hybrid solution that meets our stringent requirements and supports our growth. We rely on Latisys as an extension of our team."

"Fishbowl is a very sophisticated restaurant marketing company and their industry-leading business relies on information and insight that is seamless and on-demand," said Pete Stevenson, CEO of Latisys. "We are thrilled to be their IT infrastructure partner and committed to providing highly flexible and scalable IaaS to support Fishbowl's accelerating growth."

Latisys has been undergoing a national expansion since 2012. Highlights include a new data center in Denver as well as renovations that added 22,000 and 10,000 square feet of secure, ultra high-density raised floor space in northern Virginia and Chicago. The company also announced it is adding 12,000 square feet to its facility in Irvine, Calif., bringing the company's total data center platform to more than 343,000 square feet. That spans seven data centers located in four major markets.
