ADTRAN Total Access 5000 Supports FTTP Rollout in Indonesia

By Rory Lidstone

ADTRAN, a provider of next-generation networking solutions, recently helped out Indonesian telecommunications provider Lintasarta in rolling out its fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) service in the country. Specifically, the carrier leveraged ADTRAN's Total Access 5000 broadband platform to serve as the backbone of the service.

With this FTTP deployment, Lintasarta is now able to deliver faster broadband speeds for business services that require service level agreements (SLAs) for continuous service performance and availability. This requirement made the Total Access 5000, ADTRAN's flagship product, the perfect choice as it is purpose-built for supporting premium, consolidated broadband services such as data center, cloud services and video conferencing.

“Our enterprise customers have been very pleased with the quality, reliability and bandwidth capacity that we have been able to deliver with our leading-edge fiber services,” said Dr. Bambang Priantono, director of Network and Operation of Lintasarta. “ADTRAN has delivered a highly robust and scalable architecture that has enabled us to increase our addressable market and reduce the time-to-market for premium services delivery.”

The Total Access 5000 platform was also recently selected by Marne Elk Horn Telephone, a service provider in Southwest Iowa, to upgrade its own FTTP service. Indeed, the use of FTTP architecture has become increasingly common as service providers look to quickly expand their network capacity while maintaining high-quality service capable of satisfying business customer needs.

Meanwhile, the performance and scalability of the Total Access 5000 puts it at the center of many FTTP rollouts as it enables service providers like Lintasarta and Marne Elk Horn Telephone to turn services or bandwidth up to support customer demand. This allows providers to maximize end user revenue opportunities.

Furthermore, Total Access 5000 allows more than ten thousand customers to have their services launched across entire metro areas from a single centralized platform, lowering operating costs for the provider and reducing capital expenditures.
