NetCracker Technology to Deliver Full BSS Solution for VIVO Mobile Service

By Laura Stotler

A multi-year managed services contract has been announced between VIVO and NetCracker Technology. Solutions provider NetCracker will develop, implement and operate a BSS solution for VIVO's mobile service through the agreement.

VIVO will leverage next-generation technology from NetCracker along with solution delivery methodology and managed services expertise in an effort to reduce its CapEx and OpEx, while also increasing revenues. VIVO, the mobile brand of Telefonica Group of Brazil, provides mobile and fixed-line television and Internet broadband services to more than 90 million subscribers.

VIVO will also partner with NetCracker's CMMI Level 5 Services Organization to enhance its ability to launch new operations more quickly. The partnership will also help the company initiate modernization and innovation projects, strengthen its competitive position and offer a better customer experience.

NetCracker, a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, is in the business of partnering with communications services providers and cable operators. The company offers end-to-end solutions and delivery capabilities that help its customers and partners eliminate operational and business silos to deliver efficient, real-time services and solutions for the on-demand world.

"NetCracker is firmly dedicated to the Latin American market, and we have a particularly strong presence in Brazil through our Sao Paulo office, which is staffed by highly experienced individuals with extensive local knowledge," said Bob Titus, NetCracker's vice president of global converged solutions. "We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with VIVO and are looking forward to providing them with the critical resources that will help them attain their business goals."
