Tangoe Expands MMS Solution with Forward, Reverse Logistics Capabilities

By Laura Stotler

Communications Lifecycle Management (CLM) software and service provider Tangoe, Inc. has expanded its Managed Mobility Solution (MMS) offering. The company has added enhanced forward and reverse logistics capabilities to the solution, which offers a full suite of services in support of a multi-faceted mobile strategy.

Tangoe's MMS solution is designed to help customers create revenue streams, lower operating costs, manage productivity and secure company resources and data. The company has expanded its Austin, TX office to include a depot logistics facility in support of the offering's new capabilities.

Enhanced logistics capabilities include ordering, programming, device staging and testing, large group device migrations and application loading. The company's expanding MMS capabilities also feature reverse logistics that include 24/7 global help desk support as well as device replacement and recycling.

The updated Tangoe MMS offering now encompasses a number of key factors in the mobile communications lifecycle. The solution helps customers examine their overall communications lifecycle in order to make the best decisions, and enables formal methodologies so that only approved devices are provisioned. This helps companies adhere to their mobile policies and practices, and the Tangoe Activate feature also includes forward logistics capabilities like installation, testing, staging, activation and group deployments.

The solution also helps customers manage and monitor their communications deployments to protect mobile devices, data and applications as well as enforce security and policy compliance. Customers also benefit from expense management that ensures they only pay the contracted rate for mobile services while also analyzing costs and usage patterns. And Tangoe offers 24/7 multi-level support for the mobile workforce that includes enhanced reverse logistics support as well as the ability to replace and recycle mobile devices.

"IT departments are often limited by not having the proper support staff or technical capabilities required to keep pace with changes and trends occurring within the mobile communications arena and, more importantly, within their mobile enterprise," said Al Subbloie, president, CEO and founder of Tangoe. "Building on the technology-enabled services our customers have relied upon for years -- including device security, logistics, invoice processing, inventory management and strategic consulting services -- Tangoe's expanded MMS solution provides critical mobility capabilities that many enterprises need to support their expanding mobile user bases. Utilizing Tangoe's expanded MMS capabilities, organizations can now outsource device management and user support to Tangoe, allowing them to redirect their focus to strategic, core business issues."
