MSP Retail Solutions Group to Be Acquired and Renamed Kyrus Solutions

By Laura Stotler

Retail managed service provider (MSP) Retail Solutions Group (RSG) has been acquired by Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. The company is part of Agilysys, Inc. and will become a newly-formed affiliate named Kyrus Solutions, Inc. once the transaction closes in early summer.

RSG provides retail point-of-sale, self-service and wireless mobility solutions to the retail market throughout the world. The MSP also offers business consulting, implementation and maintenance, support and a variety of additional managed services.

Private investment firm Clearlake specializes in private equity investments and looks to partner with high-level investment teams. The company provides long-term capital and operational expertise to a variety of businesses. RSG was a good candidate, considering the company has a 35-year track record of working with retailers to streamline their operations and improve customer experience and loyalty as well as reduce IT costs.

The newly formed Kyrus Solutions will remain in Greenville, SC with Paul Civils staying on as general manager. After the transaction closes, Keith Bradley, an executive operating advisor at Clearlake, will become executive chairman of the new company. Bradley was recently president of Ingram Micro North America. Behdad Eghbali, Prashant Mehrotra and James Pade, all of Clearlake, will join the new company's board of directors.

"We are excited to partner with the talented management team of RSG as we make a significant investment in the company and create a strong and focused standalone entity, Kyrus Solutions," said Eghbali and Mehrotra in a statement. "With its long-standing reputation for exceptional technology solutions, service delivery, customer focus, and innovative managed services solutions, coupled with Clearlake's capital resource and operational capabilities, we believe the company is ideally positioned to benefit from significant market trends, including the continuing investment in technology solutions by retailers."

Added Bradley, "Kyrus Solutions is a strong platform that is extremely well-positioned for future growth. I look forward to working with Paul and the rest of the management team to drive the company's growth strategy of providing our customers with cutting-edge solution innovation and industry leading service and support."
