Vembu Provides Hitachi Data Channel Partners with Cloud-Based IT Platform

By Erin Harrison

Disaster recovery company Vembu Technologies has teamed up with Hitachi Data Systems to allow its channel partners in Hong Kong to have access to a cloud-based IT service platform.

Vembu Technologies provides backup, disaster recovery, file sharing and collaboration solutions for managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs). The partnership will allow Hitachi’s business customers to have access to Vembu’s StoreGrid platform, which offers a BDR solution for on-premises backup, remote backup and cloud disaster recovery.

“A relationship with Vembu enables our partners in Hong Kong to offer one of the most secure, complete and reliable cloud backup and disaster recovery solutions on the market today,” Andrew Sampson, vice president of managed and cloud services of Asia Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems, said in a statement. “Vembu’s purpose-built technology makes it possible to offer businesses an affordable and unified backup and disaster recovery solution for both physical and virtual environments.”

StoreGrid’s features automatically protect data on Windows and Linux environments with support for virtualized platforms using VMware, Xen or Hyper-V strengthens its data protection offerings by providing an ideal solution for managed service environment, according to Srivatsan Venkatesan, vice president of product management at Vembu.

“With Vembu’s StoreGrid, partners of Hitachi Data Systems in Hong Kong can now offer all the imperative features in a unified BDR platform so that business customers can ensure 100 percent uptime for their server and applications,” Venkatesan said.

The new partnership with Hitachi Data is one of many for Vembu. In March, Vembu and Artisan Infrastructure teamed up to offer MSPs and VARs the opportunity to build their own cloud-based solutions for a cost-effective price, using Vembu’s StoreGrid and SyncBlaze technology.

The StoreGrid and SyncBlaze offerings are pre-installed and are available publicly through Artisan’s solution ecosystem, which makes them deployable in less than a few minutes, company officials said. The combined solutions provide quick and reliable cloud backup as well as disaster recovery, file sharing and sync. Artisan’s Cornerstone vPDC offering also lets MSPs retain complete autonomy in the deployment and management of their individual cloud solutions.
