Ingram Micro Europe Delivers Nomadesk Document Management Solution

Ingram Micro Europe Delivers Nomadesk Document Management Solution

By Laura Stotler

A new partnership between Ingram Micro Europe and Belgium-based document management solution provider Nomadesk will promote cloud storage and file synchronization. Ingram Micro will be offering the solution to the managed service provider (MSP) and reseller channel through the partnership.

The Nomadesk document management solution provides encryption, backup, synchronization, mobilized access and data sharing. Ingram Micro will make it available as a white-label, value-added service geared toward business users and companies, since Nomadesk did not want to sell it directly.

“Our business aim is not to serve the market directly, but rather to concentrate on development and innovation,” said Filip Tack, chief executive and co-founder of Nomadesk. “Our product is particularly suited to businesses or providers of high-value-added services that wish to offer their customers private or public cloud services.”

The solution creates a secure area on users' local hard drives in which data is protected through 256-bit encryption. When the application is closed, this area becomes invisible, so that unauthorized individuals may not access private data. The offering also automatically backs up data to the cloud every time a file is changed or a new file is saved. This offers instant and secure disaster recovery.

Additional features include secure consolidation of all documents so that they may be backed up and synchronized across multiple computers. Synchronization is managed by dragging and dropping or saving files directly, and then automatically synchronizing new or changed files whenever a user logs on. A simple online dashboard enables easy management of files from any computer, and the solution also provides mobile access through iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

"The Nomadesk solution offers a perfect match for the requirements of our partners and their customers,” said Jason Beal, executive director and general manager for the advanced solutions division at Ingram Micro Europe. “Nomadesk allows us to respond to this demand quickly and further deliver on the IM Cloud value proposition in the channel.”
