Canadian MSP Tenzing Opens Dallas Data Center for Cross-border E-commerce Clients

By Laura Stotler

Canadian managed service provider (MSP) Tenzing Managed IT Services has taken on a large number of cross-border e-commerce clients in recent months. Due to this massive growth, the company has opened its first U.S. data center in Dallas, geared toward providing hosting solutions for e-commerce clients as well as system integrators and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers.

The new facility is already prepared for new deployments and will support all existing enterprise-class Tenzing services, including the MSP's Everest Enterprise Cloud. The IaaS offering features hardware-based security and scalability along with full customization and control for customers in addition to 24x7 live support.

Tenzing already has data centers in Toronto, Vancouver and Kelowna, BC, but needed to support its global growth. About 30 percent of the company's business now comes from outside of Canada, and the new Dallas facility will support clients that prefer to have their systems housed and managed within the U.S. The location is also close to Latin America, to support customers from that region as well.

The MSP specializes in offering IT services within the e-commerce center, with support for a variety of technology platforms. These include Oracle ATG Web Commerce, IBM WebSphere Commerce, Intershop, Magento and others. Services include application monitoring, denial of service mitigation, content delivery, load testing and end-to-end PCI compliance.

The company is also PCI-DSS compliant and maintains a number of major certifications including ISO 27001 and SSAE16 Type II. Tenzing also follows ITIL and ITSM best practices to deliver reliable, secure and scalable applications backed by comprehensive SLAs.

"Over the past year, we've been very focused on building and delivering the services our e-commerce clients need to keep their stores running smoothly around the clock," said Brian Shepard, founder and CEO of Tenzing. "Our efforts are paying off and we are now seeing increasing demand from large cross-border clients looking for the unique managed services we provide. The Dallas location offers one of the best network connectivity hubs in North America and an attractive business climate for technology companies. We are now even better positioned to service our e-commerce and other mission-critical clients across the continent."
