MACH Drives Managed Revenue Protection into Maldives Market

By Doug Barney

Revenue Protection as a managed service from MACH is designed to stop fraud and billing mistakes, both of which can cost money, lots of money, especially for a large telecom company.

MACH is now speeding its way into the Maldives thanks to a new partnership with telecom provider Dhiraagu.

The Maldives teleco will use the MACH Revenue Protection system across both its fixed line and mobile infrastructure. The Maldives has nearly 200 inhabited islands, creating quite a challenge for a telecom wanting to offer comprehensive services.

There are two pieces to the MACH platform – CASHBACK Revenue Assurance and FAME Fraud Management. Turns out Dhiraagu needed both functions and found them in one vendor. And MACH had an edge as it was already providing Dhiraagu with roaming services.

Hunting down fraud and errors means sifting through mountains of data. That’s where MACH’s in memory approach speeds analysis. With in memory, RAM not hard drives, is used to store the data being parsed, eliminating hard drive lag time.

“MACH’s integrated Fraud Management and Revenue Assurance platform provides us with strategic insight into our business, enabling us to reduce costs and improve efficiency across the board,” said Avnish Jindal, CFO at Dhiraagu. “MACH’s Revenue Protection portfolio perfectly aligns to our organizational processes and policies and its integrated features fully support our network expansion plan for new technologies.”

Revenue Leaks Pour

Juniper Research has studied revenue leakage, and say the mobile industry alone lost nearly $60 billion in 2011 in the U.S. Unchecked, these losses could hot nearly $300 billion in three years, Juniper says.

“By combining business intelligence capabilities within the Revenue Protection platform, operators can evaluate process efficiency, revenue, cost and profit margins at more discrete levels, such as by bundle, offer, product, device or partner,” said Rasmus Holst, Senior Vice President, Market Offering, MACH. “We also aim to give our customers flexibility in how they adopt the platform: whether via a licensed software model or as a cloud-based, managed service.”

More CASHBACK

MSP Today this winter covered the announcement of CASHBACK v8, the latest release can handle a billion transactions each month, and nearly in real-time.
