American Digital Corporation Acquires MSP and Virtualization Solutions Provider Helixstorm

By Laura Stotler

IT solutions provider American Digital Corporation has acquired Helixstorm, a provider of virtualization and managed service solutions. California-based Helixstorm will help American Digital expand its managed and professional services business while reaching the West Coast market.

The managed service provider (MSP) offers a wealth of technical resources, as well as a diverse set of service offerings that will enable American Digital to greatly enhance its portfolio. The acquisition brings the company's workforce to close to 40 people in five locations throughout the U.S., and is the second acquisition within the past two years.

Helixstorm's Aaron Schneider will remain as head of sales for the west coast region, with Eric Henry staying on as head of solution technology. All employees of Helixstorm will keep their existing roles within American Digital.

"Helixstorm brings top-tier expertise around managed services, IT support and application performance testing," said Norbert R. Wojcik, president and CEO at American Digital. "The Helixstorm service process of delivering the same technology used by Fortune 500 companies to the mid-sized market fits well with the American Digital professional service model. This will enable American Digital to expand its managed services across all areas of IT infrastructure, giving customers a more comprehensive solution portfolio to satisfy their growing needs."

"We wanted to take managed services and our solution offerings to the next level for our clients and their more complex IT projects," added Schneider, cofounder and president of Helixstorm. "American Digital's breadth and depth of enterprise offerings across the entire IT infrastructure allow us to do this."

In addition to virtualization, Helixstorm offers a variety of managed services for enterprise computing environments, including cloud offerings and 24/7 managed services support. The company's solutions enable clients to securely connect to their networks from anywhere, at any time and using any device.

They also focus on scalability so resources may be efficiently expanded or contracted in line with changing business demands and requirements.
