Yorktel Reveals VideoCloud Portfolio

By Robbie Pleasant

Yorktel is stepping up in the cloud video conferencing game, with the release of the Yorktel VideoCloud video conferencing services portfolio. This enterprise-class, cloud-based service portfolio lets customers use Yorktel’s hosted video infrastructure, rather than purchasing any new systems, gaining access to video conferencing over the cloud.

Yorktel VideoCloud is currently the only provider to support full integration with Microsoft Lync and Office 365. With it, users on any Microsoft Lync client can connect to video conferencing systems from nearly any other vendor, allowing for easy communication no matter what system the other party uses.

VideoCloud allows for connectivity from standard video conferencing rooms, desktop computers and mobile conferencing clients, and more, with complete interoperability across devices and carrier networks. That means customers just need a single partner and solution for communicating with practically anyone, rather than supporting multiple platforms and security protocols.

There are three different models for the Yorktel VideoCloud Services Portfolio. The VideoCloud Virtual Meeting Room is an on-demand video conferencing service that lets people set up conferences without a reservation, and is interoperable with any H.323 or SIP-compliant desktop, room or mobile client. The VideoCloud Managed Conferencing Service is a fully managed service, providing cloud-based video conferencing and an expansive suite of services to ensure meetings have everything they need.

There’s also the VideoCloud B2B Service, which extends a managed corporate video conferencing environment, providing the ability to schedule and host inter-company video conferences.

“The demand for real-time collaboration and visual communications continues to grow with each passing day,” said Yorktel CEO Ron Gaboury. “Yet, the fear of managing and integrating complex systems – and the associated costs and resource drain – prevents many CIOs from embracing video. Only Yorktel has the global resources, integration expertise, depth and breadth of offerings to comprehensively address issues such as security, network monitoring, QoS, and multi-vendor interoperability.”

This is a great portfolio for companies in need of interoperable video conferencing, at an affordable price, thanks to its cloud deployment. Companies can customize and scale the services as needed, making it a good option for companies of any size.
