Digi International recently added carrier subscription management capabilities to the iDigi Device Cloud, allowing organizations to create M2M applications, manage remote devices and oversee wireless subscriptions from a single interface.
In fact, wireless subscription, data usage and historical information from devices registered on the iDigi Device Cloud are now accessible in real time.
“Managing devices, applications and multiple carrier networks can be a daunting task,” said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of marketing at Digi International, in a statement. “Now organizations can do so easily from a single interface. By integrating wireless provisioning into the iDigi Device Cloud, companies now have real-time insight into their data usage enabling greater control of device networks. And with the most robust suite of device management capabilities, organizations can truly take control of their remote assets.”
Aside from enhanced monitoring capabilities, Digi's collaboration with global carriers enables iDigi Device Cloud users to activate or deactivate wireless service. This is supported by AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and Jasper Wireless. Support for Jasper Wireless provides iDigi customers with access to over 90 wireless carriers worldwide.
Carrier subscription management also enables iDigi users to perform critical device management operations such as firmware upgrades, software downloads, setting alarms, scheduling management tasks and viewing time series data. Furthermore, since Digi boasts the widest range of off-the-shelf hardware and wireless design and application development services, it offers the industry's most extensive M2M solution development capabilities.
Toward the end of December, Digi International signed a distribution agreement with Phoenix-based Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. The agreement provides Avnet Electronics' customers with access to Digi's entire range of ARM-based embedded wired and wireless modules, wireless routers, gateways and other M2M technologies.
Earlier that month, Digi became a member of the Essential Wireless Mesh (EWM) Patent Portfolio by taking a license to SIPCO's patents in the portfolio.
